Prama Closure of Kinson and Ashley Cross Charity Shops To Make Way For New Ventures
Prama has successfully been running two charity shops in Kinson and Ashley Cross. We cannot thank our customers, donors, volunteers and staff enough for making this happen. However, moving forward, we have other aims for our charitable retail network including our new Superstore on Ringwood Road. As a result, we have made the decision to close the two shops: Ashley Cross has closed this week and Kinson will be closing in September.
As a charity it is really important that we constantly review our shop locations and identify what is working and what challenges we are facing, so that we can look at ways in which we can streamline operations and ensure we are making the best possible decisions for the future of the charity.
Retail is a fast-moving environment, and we need to ensure that we are keeping up with the latest trends and changes in the retail environment while ensuring we are meeting the needs of all our customers, by being able to provide a variety of items at affordable prices in convenient and accessible locations.
We have held a Charity Shop presence in the Kinson community for over 10 years at a few different premises, and at Ashley Cross for 8 years, and we have always been made to feel really welcome and part of both local communities. We’re so grateful for all the support and donations we have received over the years, and we will miss all of our regular customers.
Head of Retail, Aaron Head, says:
“We are so proud of what we’ve achieved as a team at both shops over the years, and whilst we don’t like closing any of our shops, we felt that this was the right decision to make at both of these sites. We will continue to invest in opening more larger shops in the future and of course we will still be continuing to support the local community with our PramaLife groups across these areas.”
